COMMENTS:

  • The parser inserts the elided verb ('kANkshe:1:A:desire') into clause A.4. Notice that this clause did not also have an explicit Subject term (in this case, it is read as the implicit first-person pronoun 'I').
  • The parser inserts the elided 'copula verb' ('as:2:P:to be') into clauses A.2 and A.3.
  • The parser treats the short pronoun 'naHa' as GEN-P, whereas it is treated as ACC-P in [KAL2015] [1]. However, [MM2015] [2] treats the word as GEN-P, just as the parser does. Hence this is not a defective assignment by the parser. Clearly, there is a difference of opinion between experts on this matter (GEN-P, or DAT-P, would be preferable if the clause is treated as having an elided 'copula verb'). Short pronouns are extremely difficult for the parser to get right because 'real-word' understanding is required to resolve them.
