Class 6

Class 6 is known as तुदादि in the Ashtadhyayi. The exemplar verb root is 'tud:to strike'.

The verbal base is formed by the addition of 'a' to the verb root.

Examples of the derivation of the Third Person-Singular and Plural Present Verb conjugations are shown in the following table:

Verb Root Step 1: attach 'a' Verbal Base III-Singular Present III-Plural Present
tud (to strike:Par.) tuda tuda tudati tudanti
iSH (to wish.:Par.) ichchha ichchha ichchhati ichchhanti
kRi (to scatter.:Par.) kira kira kirati kiranti
prachchh (to ask:Par.) pRuchchha pRuchchha pRuchchhati pRuchchhanti
