COMMENTS:

  • As mentioned on the Sandhi Results Chapter 2 page, the 'sandhi analysis' stage chose the incorrect alternative 'ayuktas:not harnessed' instead of 'yuktas:harnessed', while splitting 'buddhyAyukto'. This is a semantics/ pragmatics issue that cannot be handled correctly by a syntactic parser. However, for the correct grammatical analysis below, we have used the correct term ('yuktas:harnessed').
  • The parser chooses the incorrect declined form 'GEN-S:Fem.:te', whereas the correct form is 'DAT-S:Masc.:te' as per [MM2015][1] and [KAL2015][2]. As mentioned elsewhere, short-form pronouns are particularly difficult to handle as they have multiple declined forms for the same word. A syntactic parser does not have the 'deep understanding' of the real world required to determine the correct sense of such short-form pronouns.
