COMMENTS:

  • The parser inserts an elided 'copula verb' in clause A.1.
  • Note that the relative pronoun 'ye' is not at the beginning of the clause, and makes it very difficult to decode the structure of the stanza.
  • The term 'saNjnyArtham' is treated as an indeclinable by the parser (as does [MM2015] [1], whereas [KAL2015][2] treats it as an ACC-S. The treatment by the parser appears correct as ACC-S 'saNjnyArtham' would conflict with the direct object ACC-P 'tAn' of the verb 'bravImi'. However, there is another possibility of a combination of GEN-S 'te' with ACC-S 'saNjnyArtham', i.e. equivalent to 'your information' (where the verb 'bravImi' is a ditransitive verb); while such an assignment would be different from the views of both experts ([KAL2015] and [MM2015]), it does have merit. From all of the above, we can see that the assignment for the term 'saNjnyArtham' by the parser is not a defect.
  • In an alternate clause structure, the relative clause A.1 would start with the relative pronoun 'ye', while the sentence-initial terms 'asmAkan tu vishiSHTAHa' would be attached to the next clause A.2. This would have the alternate reading : 'O Dvijottama, note these, our exceptional people, who are leaders of my army, ... '. In this structure, the relative pronoun NOM-P 'ye' agrees with its antecedent NOM-P 'vishiSHTAHa' in clause A.2, but the antecedent is an adjective, which may be somewhat uncommon.
